Clarke the Clown

For some of you that don't know, Joseph has a very special friend in Pa. Her name is Clara. Clara is a clown that visits Joseph every time he is in Pa. What Joseph didn't know was that Clara has a brother, Clarke. Clarke lives in Cincinnati. Joseph hopes that one day that Clarke and Clara could both be at his party some day. We will have to see.  Want to say happy birthday to one of the sweetest boys grammy knows. Hope you have a fun birthday on Thurs. Happy Happy Birthday Joseph. Grammy loves you so much.

Headed to Honduras Today

At about 3:00 am Eric, Hannah, Joseph Zaid, and Daniel Laith headed back to their home in Honduras. I know that I had already said our goodbyes several days before, but there was just something about them leaving on that plane. It is never easy to let them go, but as I have always said "It is better for them serving the Lord thousands of miles away rather than living next door not serving Him." I am continuing to trust the Lord for them. He can take better care of them than I ever could. Little Joseph at times said that he was ready to go then at other times he was not. That is so understandable though. When I would bring my kids home from Jordan for a visit, they would say the same things. They missed their daddy and family there, but "America is so much fun" Which is true, but it seems we can lose the vision if we are not careful. I have found that true with myself. Help me, Lord to see the lost and what is really important. Please continue to pray for them, I am sure they would appreciate it so much.

Happy Fathers Day to a very special Father.

I just wanted to say how much I love and appreciate my Daddy. Being the eldest of seven children, I thought I always was just a little more special to him, but if you ask the other six children they would tell you they thought that they were special too. That is just the way Daddy makes us feel. Daddy worked hard all of his life providing the best he could for such a large family. Daddy raised us children up to serve the Lord after he got saved. He lived a life  where there were no question marks. You knew that Daddy was real. He taught us that no matter what happens in life, we have got to live holy lives in order to make it to heaven. Daddy is a man of faith. I can remember so many times calling him in the middle of the night to pray about something, or taking one of my children to him when they were sick, and daddy would lay his hand on them and no sooner call on Jesus name, and they would begin to quieten down and sleep
One time Daddy came to visit me when I lived in Jordan. We had been praying that God would give me a son, Daddy did not know that, I don't think, but another couple had asked my dad to come to their house to pray and ask God to give them a child. We went. Daddy prayed. God's Almighty Presence filled the room and Daddy was just sure that God had answered prayer. A couple months later, daddy called and asked if there was any news about the couple he had prayed with and if there was a baby on the way. I told him I had not heard from them but that God had answered our prayers and was giving us another baby. It was a little boy! How Great is Our God!!!
If I would write about everything and everyone my daddy has touched and influenced it would take for days, but I feel I need to tell this. In January of this year, my dad started losing his balance and vomiting. We took him to the doctors and in Feb. he was diagnosed with a benign yet inoperable brain tumor. The only thing the Dr's could do is put a brain shunt in,and we thought this would take care of the problem. During his hospital stay, his brother came to visit, and while he was there visiting some other relatives were visiting too. I think my daddy had been talking to his brother about the Lord before the other relatives came and my uncle had felt that he had no hope of getting back to the Lord. Well, my daddy asked if he wanted to pray, and he said he did. Others began to pray, Nurses were standing outside the door listening and Jesus came and saved my Uncle. Praise be to God!
Daddy went home a couple days later, but he wouldn't be there for long, he somehow got an infection in the shunt and the Dr.'s had to do a second surgery to remove the shunt, placing a drain to drain off the fluid the tumor was causing to build up. During this time, We almost lost him. Daddy never changed, keeping his faith, and testifying to the dr's and nurses and asking them if they knew Jesus as their personal Savior. It was during this time that my sister was in the waiting room waiting on me to come out. I looked at her and she had tears in her eyes. I said what is wrong Sis? She said I'm under conviction. So right then and there my sister repented and Jesus saved her.! Glory be to God!!!. I said now let's go tell daddy. We did, and you can imagine...as sick as daddy was you couldn't stop him from Praising God. I believe it was the next day he said something like well I am having my third surgery in a week, I wonder who will be next and looked at my other brother who is not in victory yet. But God promised Daddy that all of us children would get in so we are still praying. Daddy is still struggling every day. Pain, vomiting, weakness, but he keeps on going. I know that he would really appreciate prayer. I have so much to be thankful for. God has given me the best father he could give. I am so glad he chose him to be mine. Love you Daddy.

Happy Fathers Day. I love you Daddy.

You are such a godly example and live it before your family everyday.

Vacation Time with The Whole Family

It was so nice having all the kids under one roof for vacation. Hotels are ok if it is only a couple, but when you have several families it is just nicer to rent a house or something where we could all be together. That is what we did. It was so nice to have everyone together just enjoying one another company.  I cooked some of their favorite meals and we just kind of made plans as we went. That's the way we do things pretty much in our family. I was pretty much in my glory having them all with me for awhile. THANK YOU, LORD.

This is my third grandson, a very special gift from God. He was born 5 weeks early and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. His Momma did very well.

Mr. & Mrs. Ronnie Brown

Such a beautiful couple.

Here We Try Again

At the request of my family, I am going to try and blog again. I really enjoy doing it, but sometimes get so busy and get behind on my posting that I don't know where to begin. So I will try to be as faithful as possible. A lot has happened this year.Starting in January my dad starting feeling bad, in February he was diagnosed with having a benign brain tumor. He has had three surgeries since February and still not doing so well. Please keep him in your prayers when you think about him. Then in April my youngest daughter, Lizzie got married to a wonderful man whom we love and admire, Mr. Ronnie Brown.  They had a beautiful wedding with her step dad walking her down the isle then handing her to my dad who then gave her to Ronnie. You see, my dad helped me take care of the children when their daddy passed, So Lizzie wanted to respect both by having them both take part in that very special part of her wedding. She was so beautiful, as so was my other daughters. Hannah was her maid of honor and came straight from the hospital after delivering Daniel Laith just a few days before. Sarah finally had Alex, just a few weeks later. When I say finally, I mean, FINALLY! That boy weighed 9 lbs and 14 oz. She was so glad to be able to breath again.
I guess I should have mentioned first though it has been a blessing having Eric, Hannah, Joseph and now baby Daniel home from Honduras for a few months. It has been a little crazy at times, but I can never get enough of them being home. I will try and post a few pictures of some of the events that has taken place since I last blogged.  Hope you enjoy, Hope my post make you smile and be of some encouragement to you.
